LIGHT LINES

(2005)

A SITE-SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE FOR THE OPENING OF THE CHATTANOOGA CITY PIER, CREATED FOR THE GRAND FINALE CELEBRATION OF THE 2!ST CENTURY CHATANOOGA WATERFRONT

Produced and Commissioned by the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership

Pier lighting structures designed by James Carpenter

LIGHT LINES is a work in two parts: The event begins with a film (projected onto the side of the pier) celebrating diversity and unique architecture of Chattanooga's famous bridges. Immediately following is a site-specific performance with a cast of local dancers representing several of Chattanooga's performing arts communities. LIGHT LINES was designed to enhance and exploit the the design and beauty of the pier and to celebrate the newly enhanced profile of the Chattanooga waterfront.
